5 Keys to Conscious Relating with Yourself, Others & the Moment

Take a moment to focus attention on your breathing ~

Consider:  What would consciously add to the quality of this moment of your existence? How would this add to the quality of your relationship with yourself, others and the Divine? And are there other daily practices you can do to develop more conscious relationships?

Here are 5 keys to create new possibilities of conscious relating in the moment.

You have already turned the first key ~ bringing your attention to your breathing. As you do this, your mind makes new neural pathways to receive more creative space to the potentiality of the moment. The mind de-clutches from automatic interpretation, which is often filtered through past perceptions, limiting belief systems and early conditioning that blocks one’s capacity to see, listen and process clearly. Perpetual cycles of cause and effect wreak havoc.

Conscious breathing interrupts these unconscious cycles, nourishes calmness and supports fresh reception to the moment. Breath awareness provides a new resting place to come home to yourself. With consciousness on your breathing, the universe opens up, old ideas let go of their hold, new options present themselves, and a higher realm of information is more readily accessible. It opens up the looping cycle of cause and effect into an expanding spiral of evolving creative movement. Whatever appears to be going on in your world, take a moment throughout the day to reset and bring your attention to your breathing.

Bringing awareness into your heart space is another key to creating conscious relating. As you breathe, let go of your mind and bring your awareness to your heart space—to this energy space that is bigger than your physical heart. Rest your easeful attention here for several breaths. Notice how this shifts how you feel within. Now, easefully look around your environment and notice any new clarity in your perceptions.

Bringing your attention to your heart space helps you to let go of outside stimulation, inner and outer distractions and unlock attachment to the absoluteness of beliefs. This practice can be self-soothing, provide more spaciousness to the moment to access fresh new perspectives that were previously outside the ritual of everyday thinking. It supports you staying in relationship with the creative energy of the moment.

A third key to becoming conscious in the moment is to relax the muscles of your mind and jaw and truly listen. Be curious. Be willing to feel and hear your own deeper truth and the deeper truth of another. There is much unspoken information in the space and energy between words that is very revealing and more true to the moment. Check out your new perceptions with an open mind.

Being transparent in your communication by being simply honest with yourself and expressing this clearly is a fourth key. I notice I feel a sense of congruency in my body when the words I speak are lined up with my deeper truth and I often feel a deeper connection with another.

Inviting Grace to infuse the moment of relating is a fifth key. Grace is Divine Intelligence and a potent elixir to awaken to the wisdom and clarity moment.

Enjoy these 5 key daily practices! Look for what’s new in your own inner experience within yourself, with another and the Divine.
